In the city centre, works have been progressing on the redevelopment of Bishop Lucey Park.
Cleaning and restoration have been carried out the stone entrance gate on Grand Parade and the old park walls. The medieval city wall, which runs through the park, will become a focal point and works to this are being carried out under archaeological supervision.
Underground services have now been laid for the park, so work is progressing on construction of the new pathways through the space. The new tower structure at the South Main Street entrance has been constructed. The redevelopment of the park will open it up to the wider city centre, creating a more inviting space that can be enjoyed by all. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2025.
